Meet the team.
We are a three-pastor church with an amazing support staff and a whole slew of other fantastic people, too many to mention!
Rodney Payne II
Lead Pastor
Pastor Rodney Payne II spent his early years in Southern Ohio, has lived in Tennessee and Michigan, but has been here in Oregon for over 18 years. Pastor Rodney graduated from Southern Adventist University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology with minors in History, Practics and Biblical Languages. He then graduated from Andrews University with a M.Div gradutate degree in Theology. He dedicated himself in education and currently in practice to the call of sharing God’s love and word through meaningful preaching. After ministering in the Georgia-Cumberland Conference (Tennessee) for 6 years, Rodney was invited to start a young adult ministry here at Beaverton and soon took on the youth pastor role as well. About 7 years later he was invited to step into the Lead Pastor role. His concern for the spiritual growth and needs of children, youth and young adults continues to this day but he celebrates and values the whole inter-generational community.
During his ministry here at the Beaverton Church, Pastor Rodney met and fell in love with his now-wife Brenda. They have two young children, a son Rodney III, ‘Roddy’, and daughter Amelia. Rodney enjoys active wellness such as running and cycling, golf on occasion, as well as enjoying his family time riding bikes, trailer camping and so much more.

Jeff Bradburn
Youth & Young Adult Pastor
Jeff Bradburn is an Oregon local and proud to call the PNW home. Raised a Christian, he discovered the beauty of a relational God while attending college in Canada. A few years later, while working as a Youth Pastor in Hawaii, he heard the gospel for the first time, and his life has never been the same.
In addition to pastoring, Jeff spent 5 summers on staff at Big Lake Youth Camp and worked as a Middle and High School teacher. While pursuing a Master of Divinity at Andrews University, Jeff met his wife Ruth who became his lifelong adventure buddy and partner in ministry. Together they have a mini-Australian Shepherd named Benji.
Jeff currently serves as Associate Pastor with an emphasis in Youth and Young Adults. He is passionate about developing leaders, storytelling, and following the way of Jesus.
In his free time, you can find Jeff trail running, backpacking, rock climbing, and surfing the Oregon Coast.

Jack Brown
Associate Pastor
Pastor Jack Brown, a Baltimore native, holds degrees from Washington Adventist University, Portland Seminary, and Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He is a certified facilitator for Prepare/Enrich, focusing on marriage preparation and relationship maintenance. Throughout his career in California, North Carolina, and Oregon, Jack's pastoral priorities include preaching, nurturing the congregation, protecting them, and continuous prayer. He excels in delivering Biblically based, relevant messages and coaching church members as ministers. His passion lies in safeguarding vulnerable members and maintaining a personal relationship with Jesus through devotion, prayer, and study. Jack is married to Dr. Marcie Drury Brown, a Pediatric Endocrinologist, and they have two children, Samuel and Amalia, and a dog named Rufus.
Kendra Gibson
Office Manager
You may wonder what the Administrative Assistant does here at our church. Through the church office, I assist the pastoral team and members of the congregation in the following ways:
- Producing the Weekly Bulletin and updating the app
- Handling church membership requests for transfer
- Creating announcements for special events
- Keeping the church calendar current
- Scheduling regular and special events for the congregation and for the community
- Taking phone calls and relaying the information to the correct people
- Assisting in various office-based projects as needed
Greg Wendt

What is a Pastoral Assistant?
A Pastoral Assistant, formerly called Elder, is a spiritual leader in our church. They serve in various roles, including administration, assisting in worship, offering personal prayer, conducting Bible studies, providing a listening ear for concerns, visiting those in need, posting prayer requests, and participating in anointing ceremonies for healing. Heidi McGill
Children's Ministry Leader
At Beaverton we place a HUGE value on our children since they will be tomorrow's leaders. Heidi has been pouring warmth and care into all that she does for over five years. She is passionate about the littlest ones and ensures every child is loved and noticed. Some of the ways she volunteers her time is ensuring every age group has a Sabbath school program and teachers, there are child-friendly activities at social events, and parents are informed about events and planned activities each month. If you would like to help Heidi with Children's Ministries please email her!
